Want to enjoy fresh, refreshing soft water on the go? What about buying a portable water softener system? Watts RV Pro-1000 held its position as one of the top portable water softeners for several years in a row. Outdoor life enthusiast, frequent campers and globe-trotters will find this gadget handy at places where water hardness scale is menacingly high. The compact design doesn’t hinder the functionality in any way. I was smitten by the travel bug long since I was in my teens. Whenever I’m out on an adventure trip to a hill station or dense forest, Watts RV Pro allows me the access to finely conditioned water on the go.
Watts RV Pro-1000, also sold under the trae name M7002, is a beautifully sculpted, lightweight piece of a genuine water softener, measuring only 8 x 22 inches. I know the dimension doesn’t make it sound like a very comfortable thing to carry in your luggage, but given the excruciating level of hardness in camping sides, you shouldn’t give this one a miss. One of the biggest questions that peep into our minds is about the performance, especially when we associate it to a whole house water softening system.
The comparison is pretty dull. The portability is bound to have some impact on the effectiveness of the features. Having said that, Rv Pro is no less instrumental in utilizing some of quintessential implements used in many upscale traditional softeners. It features a custom designed flow valve for unperturbed regeneration. You’ll normally need around 2 lbs. peletted salt or table salt for each cycle.
There’s a built-in drain line Vortex flow restrictor and a Y- ball valve fitted in the unit, assuring a powerful, highly efficient regeneration cycle by enhancing the capacity of the system by almost 55 percent. The cycle is complete within less than 20 minutes. With a full cradle base, the softener is absolutely safe and extraordinarily stable to move around.
The mobile water softening system from Watts is capable of a high flow rate with minimal pressure drop. Not to forget the 1/3 cubic foot superior quality resin tank for state-of-the-art water treatment process. 10000 grains is an incredible capacity for a movable hard water solution, so to speak. All the control units, including the tank, comes with Watt’s 10 years warranty.
What I liked
When the product name is Watts Rv Pro-1000, expectations run high. Thankfully, the machine delivers exactly what it claims to do. This 10k capacity salt-based water softening system offers test strips to check the level of hardness. The Vortex flow restrictor is a true gem. It simultaneously cuts down the time of regeneration and reduces water wastage to minimum.
Low operational cost
Given the fact the the system can work on standard table salt for effective regeneration, the running cost for the unit is pretty negotiable in comparison to that of the regular salt-based devices. The premium resin delivers trouble-free service for many years.
What I didn’t like
Using a lengthy hose can be tricky as the hose fitting of the system doesn’t rotate. The quick fix would be to replace the existing fitting with a snap-in connector.
To conclude this review of Watts RV Pro-1000, I won’t mind saying this is one of the best budget RV softener ever made. In fact, it can be administered nicely in condominiums, small apartments and rented houses and even in a garage as an effective alternative of whole house systems. This not-so-tough-to-carry around equipment does what it is designed for.
